A successful candidate is  one who:

1)  Needs the Academy to be successful (educational needs not currently being met in the school presently attending)

2)  Is Motivated to be successful

3)  Is Ready for radical acceleration

Application Criteria

Required:  

  • Completed 6th grade curriculum
  • 12 years old by December 31st, in the year of application
  • Consistently performs at the highest levels (Exceeds) on achievement tests.*
  • Intellectual ability significantly higher than age peers with a score above 130 on an IQ test (WISC IV or Stanford Binet)
  • Score at or above: ACT–Math 23 and English 24 or SAT–Math 550 and Critical Reading 550

* AIMS, Stanford 10, ITBS  

Desired:

  • Highly independent and self-disciplined
  • Works well collaboratively and independently
  • Usually intrinsically motivated
  • Works well in a fluid environment
  • Holds themselves and others to high standards
