Tuition & Fees
What is the cost of tuition?
Yearly tuition for the Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy is $11,000 for the 2018-2019 school year. A $500 commitment fee is due within 30 days after acceptance. Needs based scholarships are available, please contact the academy for more information.
Is there a fee to apply to the Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy?
Yes, there is a $50.00 non-refundable fee to apply.
Testing & Application Requirements
I have testing that my child’s school has done. Can I use this information for the application?
Yes, as long as the test date is within the last 3 years, it will be accepted.
What tests are acceptable for achievement test scores?
The tests we currently will accept are AIMS (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards)/AZMerit, Stanford 10, ITBS (Iowa Test of Basic Skills), or other statewide assessments.
Where can I get Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (V) administered?
The Academy provides several testing days each year. There is a fee of $325 due at the time of testing.
Your website says you will use technology like ipads and laptops. Do we need to provide this on top of tuition?
No, the school will provide a laptop to each student. We have classroom sets of iPads for our students. Parents and students will sign a Technology & Acceptable Use Agreement, and if damaged or destroyed, you will be responsible for repairs or the replacement cost of the device. The laptop is a required tool for our students.
What if my student has already mastered the 7th and 8th grade level academic standards?
A personalized learning plan is developed for every student at the Academy. This enables us to set individual growth goals within the content and ensure an academic and social experience that is commensurate with their individual abilities.
