Michael Twilling has served as an Academic Professional at the Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars Academy since its inaugural 2011-2012 school year. He holds a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Science from the University of Arizona, as well as an MEd in Educational Technology from Arizona State University. Mike is a Science specialist with 18 years of classroom experience. He has served as a state and national STEM trainer, and is an expert in curriculum development and implementation.
Michael currently facilitates the Secondary I program at HYSA, is the lead instructor for the A-Level Global Perspectives course, and also teaches an introductory course in Forensics. He is the head coach for the FLL Robotics team and also coaches Cross Country and Track.
Michael is a master teacher who is passionate about his work with gifted students and honored to be a part of the Gary K. Herberger Young Scholars experience.
